iPhone App Hack: Making Web Apps More Native
Workflowy is a super cool organization app that I found through this Convo Group post. The video below will explain what it does better than I can.
If you have an iPhone you will be sad to learn that Workflowy doesn’t have a native app yet. But, the web version does work really well on my phone. The following will show you how to create a Workflowy icon that you can click on instead of bookmarking it in Safari.
If you are unfamiliar with native vs. web mobile applications check out this article. It explains the pros and cons of developing both kinds of applications. I personally learned a lot from it.
STEP 1: GO TO WORKFLOWY.COM AND SIGN UP
STEP TWO: CREATE SOME LISTS (IF YOU WANT)
STEP THREE: CLICK ON THE ARROW BUTTOM TO THE LEFT OF THE BOOKMARK BUTTON. THEN CLICK “ADD TO HOME SCREEN”
STEP FOUR: ADMIRE YOUR NEW WORKFLOWY ICON
What’s cool is that this can be done to lots of different web apps. I’ve since replaced iCal with Gcal and the mail app with Gmail.
