Evernote Tutorial 1: Overview and Basic Features

Evernote is an application that I rely heavily upon to stay productive and organized.  It’s part text editor, social bookmarker, search engine and personal journal.

It’s a tool that has the ability to do many different things, which is it’s greatest strength and a potential weaknesses.  Many people find Evernote tool overwhelming with not enough structure.  It’s difficult to organize Evernote.  This is why I did screencasts outlining how to use the individual parts of Evernote.

I hope this helps you find Evernote more useful!

Great series, thanks for posting it.

I’ll be sending people this way when they need help with Evernote–I myself took a little while to get “initiated” into the Evernote world… I pushed back for awhile, not knowing exactly how to make it work for me.

Now, I dump EVERYTHING into it, like a general inbox. I find that I have numerous projects, events, goals, and work deals that I have to keep in one place, and Evernote is perfect for those.

Also, it turns out it’s pretty darn good at keeping everything organized when you’re trying to write a book… http://www.nickthacker.com/2011/11/how-to-write-a-novel-in-30-days/

    Again, thanks for sharing, Cameron!

      Awesome, thanks Nick.

Evernote is a tricky app since you can go so many directions with it that’s for sure.

      Hey Dominique,

I know about the Evernote Essentials eBook, but couldn’t justify the purchase.  What did you learn in it?
